Our Education & Employment Services Department offers student funding, training/safety tickets, and works closely with the Métis Settlements Strategic Training Initiative. Welder Pre-Employment Program
32 WEEK PRE-EMPLOYMENT TO EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM
This program is tuition-free and gives students the basic welding and fabrication skills required to start a new career.
BEGINS May 3rd, 2021 at Lac La Biche Campus and Online.

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS
• High School Diploma Recommended,
o Minimum Grade 10 required
• 16 years of age or older
• Canadian Citizenship or Permanent
Resident
• Proficient in English Language
ADMISSION PROCEDURES
• Attend a program information session*
• Attend and assessment session
• Be selected for a personal interview

Hands-on, in-school training for 24 weeks with an 8-week paid work placement

2. BOOK AN ASSESSMENT SESSION AND PERSONAL INTERVIEW
You must attend an information session before attending an assessment session.

Métis Settlements Strategic Training Initiative
Every Métis person physically residing on a settlement or a settlement member on an authorized leave of absence has the right to complete and submit an MSSTI application. Completed applications and career investigations must be submitted in person to Employment and Education Services
As per the 2021-2022 MSSTI Community policy, the first intake deadline for Fall and Winter Courses is June 30, 2021. All applications will be assessed after that date.
