Application
A Métis settlement member is entitled to a range of rights and benefits, including land ownership.
If you want to become a member of FLMS you must apply to the Settlement Council for membership approval. Membership applications can be found here.
In order to be considered for membership you must:
- Have Canadian Aboriginal ancestry
- Identify with Métis history and culture
- Be 18 years old
- Have been a member of a Métis Settlement or must have lived in Alberta for the past five years
Please include photo identification with your application.
Your application will be submitted to Council for consideration; more information may be requested before making a decision. If your application is approved your name will be entered on the settlement membership list. Please note that it may take several weeks and even months for the decision.
