WE CAN HELP YOU
Mental health therapist serving Fishing Lake Metis Settlement
Mental health services are now more accessible for residents on Fishing Lake Metis Settlement.
Since August, an Alberta Health Services (AHS) mental health therapist has been providing service to the community.
Mental health therapists provide services to clients with mental health or addiction issues. These services include assessment, provisional diagnosis, treatment, crisis intervention, clinical consultation, case management, education and referrals.
Mental health therapists make plans with clients to address their goals and involve other family members or support networks into the plan, if and when appropriate.
Mental health therapists liaise with and provide referrals to appropriate agencies and services, as well as advocate for clients. They also educate, support and work with the families of their clients as necessary.
The service can be accessed by calling the therapist directly: 780-812-9307
Currently, drop-in service (no appointment needed) is offered every Tuesday from 9:00am to 3:30pm at the Fishing Lake Settlement Administration Office. All regular therapy sessions are scheduled based on client requests between Monday-Friday during the hours the office is open.
