Finding things to do in Alberta isn’t hard, given the mountains to the west, the vibrant cities at its centre and vast forests to its north. Finding the real hidden gems is a little more difficult- but far from impossible.

Fishing Lake Métis Settlement currently doesn’t have links by public transport or commercial buses, but it is easily accessible by car. The Google Map shown to the right should provide you with accurate, easy to follow directions from wherever you are setting out.

If you’re planning to stay overnight, Bonnyville, Cold Lake and Lloydminster all have comfortable, affordable hotels, or if you want to get away from it all (and if you’re lucky, enjoy the Northern Lights) camping is available on the shores of Frog Lake at Riel Beach.
