Lakeland Asphalt LTD. is an Indigenous owned company in North-Eastern Alberta. Through our commitment to excellence in product and service, we supply asphalt paving and cold mix to the needs of our communities throughout eastern Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Position Title: Operators (Screed, Paver, Roller, Dump & Pickup Machine)
Reports to: Foreman / Supervisor
Summary:
- Operating grader, pavers, rollers. Paving duties. Some walking, climbing, lifting, and carrying required.
- Operate equipment in the construction and maintenance of paved surfaces.
- Assist with training and monitoring new employees, as required
- Perform all tasks safely and in accordance with policies and procedures
- Perform job and site-specific hazard assessments, participate in safety meetings
- PPE Required: Depending on task and any chemicals being used (refer to MSDS), gloves, eye protection, hearing protection
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- Must have CSTS 2020
- Must have First Aid, WHMIS, TDG, H2S
- 3-5 + years experience paving/construction experience preferred
- Preference will go to applicants with a valid driver’s license, preferably Class 3 or higher
- Safety conscious attitude, good communication skills, team player
- Be able to work 5 days a week (Monday to Friday) with some overtime & weekend work.
- Must submit to pre-employment drug screening
- Adhere to COVID-19 considerations: Follow all WCB stipulations promoting social distancing while working outside and mandate wearing company supplied face masks when conditions require.
- Must be physically able to repetitively lift and carry at least 50lbs on a regular basis.
